Yuzu Cocktail

This is part of my series called 'Lighten Up'.

There are days when a woman needs a cold, bitter cocktail.

Here is my latest favourite:

Pop into a cocktail shaker (or, if you don't have one, a small jar does the same job. This is to be shaken, not stirred):

6 ice cubes

1.5 tablespoons of Zuzu juice (I just use the pre-squeezed Waitrose one)

60 ml gin (Japanese is best but any gin will do because the yuzu is stong)

15 ml syrup or triple sec (I prefer less syrup because I like bitter but I use 15 ml for my guests)

Shake. Then strain out the ice cubes.

Pour into a fancy cocktail glass. Do you like my latest (see photo, above)? Ichendorf Milano from souschief.co.uk. My partner thinks it is kitsch but I pay no heed.

Top it up with cold soda water.

Sip slowly.

Enjoy!
